Summer E-Newsletter Update

Welcome to our latest e-newsletter! Our regular update for you about what’s happening at Brockencote Hall, as summer begins to make its presence felt!! It’s an ideal time to get to know Brockencote Hall even better!!

 

TWO AWARDS IN ONE NIGHT!

With a list of awards as long as your arm, Brockencote Hall has become a very badly kept secret and quite rightly so!  Officially in the UK's top 200 hotels – and now the only AA Red Star Hotel in Worcestershire and the West Midlands

We have now been awarded the ‘Worcestershire Life’  ‘Restaurant of the Year’ award and chef Didier Philipot has won the ‘Chef of the Year’ award for 2008 at a glittering event at the Three Counties Showground recently.

 

We were delighted to win one award, but two was exceptional. We have recently extended our restaurant so we can seat up to 80 guests in the same dining room, in response to the demand from people to dine with us, clearly great fans of the excellent cuisine that Didier creates in our kitchens, so this is even more pleasing for that!

 

Chef Didier Philipot was equally pleased with his award: “It’s always nice to get recognition for what you do and this is very precious for me,” he said. “I am proud to be the chef at the only red star hotel in Worcestershire and the West Midlands and this award is the icing on the gateau!”

 

NEW EXTENDED DINING ROOM

 We are soon extending our dining room so that we can seat up to 80 guests at a time in comfort. Previously we were limited to just 45 in the same room, but already people have taken advantage of the larger capacity we can offer – ideal for dinners and events of course. And with ever more people wanting to sample the delights of Didier’s kitchens, the additional space will come in very handy in the months ahead!

There are just a few spaces remaining for the musical extravaganza in September! Friday 19^th September sees the visit to Brockencote Hall of Ralph Allin with his talented quintet playing a wonderful collection of jazz music based on the stunning talents of Stephane Grapelli. Enjoy an aperitif, a three course dinner with wine and a scintillating programme of music with Ralph in the lovely surroundings of Brockencote Hall. Pure heaven!

 

The evening begins at 7.15pm with an aperitif and you can enjoy the music both before and after dinner. Guests will be seated at tables of six or eight, if you want to book with a group of family or friends. Cost per head is £55-00 which includes the aperitif, three course dinner and coffee, and a half bottle of wine – payable at the time of booking. This really is proving very popular so booking early is advisable! If you want to stay overnight after the evening we can offer you a special bed and breakfast rate of just £90 for a double room – so take advantage of the evening and drift home quietly on Saturday morning. A perfect way to celebrate a special occasion or anniversary perhaps?

 

And a chance to learn glass making – a new one day course here!

In our last email newsletter update we introduced you to the idea of attending a glass making course here at Brockencote Hall. We flagged up that later in the year we would be holding a one day course run by the designer who designed the stained glass in the conservatory here. Well now we have a date for this – it will be held on xxxth xxxxxx. The course will start with coffee on arrival at 10.30am, the first session of the course taking us through until lunch followed by the second session going through to 4pm in the afternoon when tea will be served before we send you all home! The cost of this course will be £xx  if you’d like to register your interest now, please give us a call.

Come and listen to Philippe Boucheron, Worcestershire wine journalist and broadcaster’s entertaining and relaxed insight into the world of wine. 2 course supper with wine to follow - £37-50 inclusive per person

 

Organic Gardening:

Tuesday 23^rd September

Two course lunch and coffee with aperitif and wine followed by a talk from Beverley McHugh on ‘Organic Gardening for the environment’. Come and listen to Bev – a member of the Soil Association, who has her own Soil Association certified organic garden where she produces herbs and plants for local restaurants. Inspiring! £25-00 per person.

 

Gourmet Evenings:

Friday November 7^th

Just the one this year left with any spaces! Book quickly so as not to be disappointed! Hosted by Upton-upon-Severn Wines. 5 course meal with wine. £80-00 per person.

 

Why not stay overnight after the event – special rate if booked at the same time as the Gourmet Evening - £90-00 per double room on a bed and breakfast basis.

Skin Care and Holistic Therapies with Lunch!

Wednesday 17^th September

Julie Haney and her team of experts from Dermalogica will be here with loads of advice and information. Starts at 10.30am includes a two course lunch with a glass of wine – finishing around 2.45pm £30-00 per person.

With the lighter evenings and the warmer summer days heading our way, we Lunch or dinner at Brockencote Hall is always a treat and award winning chef Didier Philipot has put together some stunning menus for us that are proving very popular with regular visitors. Come and sample what we have to offer soon. We’re open every day – so we hope we’ll see you soon, for lunch, dinner – perhaps Sunday lunch with the family?
